UBC is a large, federated organization that manages numerous processes and provides access to a wide range of services through various software systems. As a user, you may create separate accounts across these systems. However, UBC requires that all user accounts be correctly linked to a single digital identity to ensure consistent and secure access to its services.
In most cases where multiple user accounts are detected, linking and consolidation occur automatically. However, in some situations, this process may be delayed, and you may be prompted to manually link your accounts. In such cases, you will be asked to verify your account(s) to connect them to your existing UBC identity.
You may be asked to verify your account if UBC detects multiple accounts that could belong to you but cannot automatically confirm the match. This typically happens when there are differences in personal information across systems.
If you use any of the following websites or services you may be prompted to verify your account(s):
If you’ve forgotten your password, please visit the login page of the system associated with your account and follow the password reset instructions provided there.
If you experience errors while trying to verify your account, please contact the UBC IT Service Centre.
If you are still experiencing issues after verifying your accounts, please contact the UBC IT Service Centre.
You can resume the process when you access the same UBC service again through your web browser.
Alternatively, please visit https://verify.id.ubc.ca to resume the verification process.
Depending on your self-verification response, you may or may not hear about the follow-up actions applicable to your accounts. If you continue to experience errors while accessing your account, please contact the UBC IT Service Centre.
Please contact the UBC IT Service Centre, explain the situation, and include details of the accounts you saw on the self-verification screens.
